Route 568 - La Paloma to Double Peak hill repeats, 40 miles, 6124 ft el, 153 ft/mi

Hill repeats.

The nature trail at mile 13.3 is the hardest climb you can find in these here parts. It is paved, 0.7 miles, 524 ft el, 750 ft/mi, 14% average. You have to dismount and walk around several gates and then start pedaling on a 14% grade after them. You probably will fall over. To avoid falling over backwards, stand and pedal to center your weight on the bottom bracket, not on the saddle. I have heard people say, "Oh no, you can't bike that trail." I had to walk the last 50 yards - I was shaking too hard to make it. However, my riding partner made it!
